For those of you who don't know, when i write, i tend to write a lot. That's not necessarily a good thing though. i tend to ramble, and get off topic and ramble some more. It's something that really bugs me about myself, so when i started this something said "ah perfect", and so among other things i shall endeavor to keep my posts short and too the point.
ha, we'll see how long that goes.

This slightly crazy thing called science olympiad
One of the things i am finding to spend my time on while i'm waiting for it to go by is Science Olympiad. For those who don't know Science Olympiad is an activity where teams of 15 from schools go to compete in different individual events encompassing many areas of science, from ornithology to physics of sound, to disease, and even robotics of sorts.
State competition is coming up, and unfortunately our state is only allowed to take one team to nationals. This year though our team has a shot. It's a classic story, underdog school vs. prep school. The team that gets essentially 0 funding and so fundraises raising one dollar at a time vs. the team that has corporate funding. The team making a comeback vs. the team that has been dominating.
So with just days left our team is practicing. A lot. Hoping that hard work and dedication will win out in the end. On weekends, after school, at home. There's lots of designing, building, studying, and practicing going on. But thankfully that's only a supplement to the past 7 months of work.
State here we come!
Oh and the only issue with all of this, nationals is several hundred miles away, and the day before graduation. oops, guess i'll cross that bridge when i come to it.

Hey out there
So this is how it begins. The begining of the end, or of my writing of it i suppose. First thing you should know is that i'm a senior. That alone should be enough to give you a clue about why the title of this blog is what it is. Right now my life seems to be one long, neverending wait. Waiting for graduation, AP tests, college, my boyfriend to return, summer, finals, and so much more. Its a busy crazy time. Assignments, tests, and everyday life coupled with scholarship applications, and preparing for college and the future. But being busy, while nice, does not erase or make easier the anticipation and waiting that especially this time brings. And so that's the game we/i play. Waiting. Passing the time by. Trying to enjoy it, yet trying to find ways to fill it.
The second reason for this blog is its sorta required. i'm working on a senior project where i studied the publication process. Since i got that pretty much done first semester i decided to spend my second semester studying a bit about how this works and how blogs are an effective, though sometimes unknown information, and writing outlet. As part of that i promised my teacher i'd start a blog, and well here we are.
Let's see that's about it. Really no idea how this is going to turn out, or even what's next, but that's all part of the adventure i guess. i'm kinda excited to figure it out, and also sorta hoping someone sticks around long enough to see it too.
